Mandarin Program overview
The Mandarin program at Ravenscroft is very vibrant and full of joy! Students participate the class activities in a hybrid setting during the pandemic, which help them continue to strive and enhance their language proficiency. This website will be updated with their presentations, art work, and portfolios as we continue to grow stronger. We greatly appreciate the support from the Global Parents Association, the Global Education department and all the participants' support for the LNY event! The picture on the left is the Middle School Mandarin students teaching Lower School students doing bamboo dance. This year, the Upper School students worked with the 1st graders and helped them with lantern making (see video below). They also had fun making dumplings in class🥟
Congratulations to Alexa G. and Zihui Q. for essay being accepted by 2022 JUHE Supplement 《居荷副刊》 sponsored by the Chinese program at University of Iowa. This year the annual essay contest received 96 submissions from 28 programs, and they selected 41 essays to publish. Our students' essay titled "西欧的快速时尚对气候的影响" was about the impact of fast fashion in Western Europe on climate change. Congrats again! 再次恭喜两位同学!

Mandarin Students and Chinese Club members continue to organize school wide Lunar New Year celebration throughout the years. Students also had the opportunity to visit Chinatowns in NYC and practiced Kung Fu with local instructors.
