9/19 - Grammar: Comma rules; Block 3 - Compare and contrast activity and read independent book; Block 4 - Read chapter 11

9/20 - Grammar: Comma rules; Block 3 - Introduce compare and contrast essay and read independent book; Block 4 - Finish novel; write theme statement

9/21 - Grammar: Comma rules; Block 3 - Plan essay - venn diagram or chart; Block 4 - Work on final project

9/10 - Grammar: 10 comma rules; The Outsiders: Block 3 - Unit wrap up: Narrative elements; theme statement; characterization poster; Block 4 - Quiz chapters 4-6

9/11 - Grammar: 10 comma rules, dialogue practice; The Outsiders: Block 3 - Work on Final project; Block 4 - Chapter 7 and diary entry

9/5 -**Interims go home! Please get them signed.** Grammar: Continue from yesterday; The Outsiders - Block 3: Write questions and Socratic Seminar discussion on chapters 7-9; Block 4: read chapters 5&6 and answer questions

8/22 - Grammar: compound sentences; vocabulary; Block 3 - Discuss chapter 3; find figurative language; characterization activity. HW: STUDY quiz chapter 1-3 tomorrow. Block 4 - Figurative language notes; begin chapter 3
