Apple Picking

What a beautiful day to spend in an apple orchard. The skies were blue and full of rainbows as our school embarked on one of our favorite all school traditions. Why do we pick apples? It turns out, there are many reasons that link directly to our nature-based curriculum and our values.
Today, you spent the day alongside your children and their peers experiencing the joy of picking an apple from a tree. When you taste a sweet apple it's easy to overlook all of the systems and hard work that went into its creation. We will be thinking about it a lot over the next few weeks as we move into harvest season. Next Tuesday, the teachers will have the opportunity to expand on our curriculum and share how we approach living and learning at Randolph School. For now, we wish you a sweet weekend and if you are lucky an apple pie, too.
*Special thanks to Sean Hemmerle for the amazing apple-picking pictures.
