World Cultures is a comprehensive study of the basic concepts and principles of both physical and cultural geography. Students develop an understanding of the principles of physical geography and world regions. Students explore the interdependence of the global community and gain an appreciation for the diversity of peoples and cultures of the world. Students continue to develop the workplace skills that enable them to examine the historical, economic, and social development of world regions. The five themes of location, place, relationships within places, movement, and regions assist students in understanding the development of world cultures. Primary sources, case studies, inquiry, and research are utilized to enhance students’ understanding of the world in which they live.
