Post-doctoral Fellow in Cross-scale Human-Ecological Modeling and East African Land-use Change
School of Global Environmental Sustainability, Colorado State University, USA
Position will be filled as soon as possible
We are hiring a full-time Post-doctoral Fellow to work on a collaborative, NASA-funded project examining coupled human and ecological dimensions of Kenyan achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals. The research will involve both using and developing modeling tools for the purpose of linking human behavior and social dynamics to ecological dynamics and the atmospheric water cycle. The Fellow will lead the human behavior modeling effort and will work collaboratively with the PI and Co-PIs on model integration and use. Additionally, the Fellow will assist in the design of scenarios of Kenyan land-use change driven by the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals, and implement and explore these scenarios in the context of the coupled cross-scale model. The Fellow will need to have considerable experience working with spatially explicit modeling activities, with multiple types of data, and with data analysis.
The Fellow will be located in the School of Global Environmental Sustainability (SoGES) at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado, USA. The position will report to Dr. Pat Keys at SoGES, and will work closely with three members of the project team with affiliations in SoGES, the Department of Anthropology, the Department of Ecosystem Science and Sustainability, and the Natural Resource Ecology Laboratory.
This position is for one year, and is renewable for a second year, pending satisfactory performance and continued funding.
