What Inspires Your Creativity?
I'm inspired by things like strong emotions and feelings. I tend to represent them along a spectrum from subtle to very bold.
What is your favorite art medium and why (i.e. painting, pottery, drawing)?
I prefer acrylic paints. I feel I've gotten pretty good at mixing colors and blending. I also find the act of painting fairly therapeutic, especially watching the colors "change" as I paint more (color theory).
How do you use your creative skills to show Raider PRIDE or influence others, or is your art for your enjoyment and/or the enjoyment of others?
I think my art is for both mine and others enjoyment. Most of the time my art is made with intention, but fairly easy for others to interpret it to mean what they need it to. While on the other hand, my art is made to express myself in ways my words cannot.
Is there a specific class that helped your art skills develop?
I would say all four of my art classes, as well as Graphic Arts both 1 and 2, photography, and video production and animation, have all helped me learn how to express myself in productive ways as well as grow my artistic abilities.
What activities are you involved with at MASD or in the community?
I'm mostly involved in Track and Field, and have been for six years now. I really enjoy long jump and triple jump, but also compete in short sprints. I'm also involved in Link Crew, and enjoying being able to help younger people feel more comfortable here.
One of the qualities that stands out most about this student is their passion for art. The subject matter they choose in their artwork not only reflects deep thought and creativity but also serves as inspiration for their fellow students. They consistently bring fresh ideas into the art room, encouraging others to explore new themes and perspectives.
In addition to their artistic talent, they demonstrate strong leadership and generosity. They willingly assist classmates by offering thoughtful critiques and sharing techniques they have learned. Their ability to support others while continuing to grow in their own practice makes them a valued and positive presence in the art room.
