SCIENCE TASKS TO TRY AT HOME
Investigate, Explore, Predict, Observe....
LAbel a flower
Make or draw a flower and then label the parts (including leaves, flowers, petals, fruit, roots, bulb, seed, trunk, branches, stem). Use a safe internet search to help you find out parts of a flower you have not heard before.
Design your dream garden
Use a tray/box/container or even draw your dream garden.
What would it look like?
What plants or trees would you include? Can you name them?
Are all Leaves the same?
Find 5 different leaves in your garden/in the park/on your way to school. Put the leaf under the piece of paper and while holding the paper and leaf in place, colour over the leaf. Have a look at the differences between the leaves. Write questions you would like to know about the leaves.
NAture WAlk
Go for a walk around a park/nature reserve/local wetlands...on your walk stop and take photographs of different plants/flowers you see. Then google image search to find the name of your plants and flowers? How many different flowers can you find? Make sure an adult is nearby just incase any images pop up that you don't want to see.
