Cardiff Sports Tour

That's it for another fantastic Cardiff Sports Tour. Well done to all the pupils that attended.

Aimed at our Year 6 pupils actively engaged in team sports, the tour offers 50 pupils the opportunity to train and compete within professional sporting environments against Welsh primary schools. For many its a culmination of years of hard work and commitment to school sport at Raglan.

The 3 day tour includes:

2 nights stay, full board, at the Sport Wales National Centre
3 days private coach travel
Cricket training with Glamorgan Cricket Club
Tour of Sophia Gardens Cricket Ground
Netball Training with Cardiff Dragons Netball Club
Tag Rugby training with Cardiff Blues Rugby Club
Tag Rugby tournament against Welsh schools
Tour of Arms Park Rugby Stadium
Tour of the Principality Stadium
Football training with Cardiff City Football Club
Football tournament against Welsh schools
Bowling at Hollywood Bowl

Selection Criteria 2026

There will be a maximum of 50 places available for this Sports Tour. Pupils will be selected based on the following criteria:

1. Selected as a Sports Journalist in 2025/26

2. Selected as a Sports Captain in 2025/26

3. Represented all four of the Raglan Football, Tag Rugby, Cricket and Netball Teams in 2025/26

4. Represented three of the Raglan Football, Tag Rugby, Cricket or Netball teams in 2025/26

5. Represented two of the Raglan Football, Tag Rugby, Cricket or Netball teams in 2025/26

6. Represented one of the Raglan Football, Tag Rugby, Cricket or Netball teams in 2025/26

7. Selected for all three of the Football, Tag Rugby and Netball Raglan Sports Cup squads 2025/26

8. Selected for two of the Football, Tag Rugby or Netball Raglan Sports Cup squads 2025/26

In the unlikely event that places are not filled on the above criteria, pupils selected for ONE of the Football, Tag Rugby or Netball Raglan Sports Cup squads in 2025/26 will be considered.
