TALK: Talk with your whanau about what you notice and wonder about the image.

PLAN: before you write. Choose a planning type:

Draw a picture plan. Add labels and keywords to your plan.
Brainstorm all of your ideas. Circle your best 3 and add extra details to each of these.

WRITE: Use your plan to write about the image.

This story was written 1000 years ago and in the olden days. Suddenly, a ginormous fish swam into the bay, like a manta-ray soaring through the water. Amazingly, it stayed there for 100 years. The people got their food from fishing and they didn't know that they lived on a fish.
