A digital-certificate is a certificate that identifies your program (Example Rich Writes 7 Client Windows Verified Publisher: Rich Writes Corp)
Why does it say unknown publisher when its signed?
This always happens when you have a SHA1 certificate, however there is a fix
Step 1: Chose your file
You are selecting the file you want to be valid
Step 2: Go to Properties
By doing this you are going to verify the publisher
I will add the publisher to verified on a vm so you can see how it works
Step 3: In properties go to digital-signatures
Step 4: in digital signatures go to details
Step 5: In details go to view certificate
Step 6: Go to install certificate
Step 7: select local machine and click next (Allow the program to make changes to your computer when you get a UAC popup)
Step 8: Select place in the following store then click browse
Step 9: Click Trusted root certificate authority then click ok then click next
Step 10: Click finish and click yes to the popup about the certificate being a SHA1
And you have finished installing the digital certificate
