Astronauts or Scientists are going to stay longer on the moon and be able to go farther because of ice on the moon. A rover will be able to take the ice on the moon and turn into the material needed to stay longer and go further on missions to the moon and mars.
NASA has created new and improved space suits. The suits are for improved mobility. In the shoulders and waist there are rotating disks so that astronauts can move more freely.
Another tool that will help during missions to the moon and beyond is the SLS (Space Launch System). The SLS is the most powerful rocket up to date. This rocket is meant to carry humans and cargo to the moon and Mars. This is the first deep space rocket since Saturn V.
The Orion spacecraft will take only four people to the lunar gateway. Those four people who will go on this mission are unknown but what we do know is that part of the team will be women. Now what's important about this is that this will be the first time we’ve been to the moon since 1972 and that this will be the first mission with a woman on it. When Orion is docked it will start to give life support to the crew.

The Gateway is an orbital outpost for human exploration of the moon. The lunar Gateway is an outpost that orbits around the moon. The Orion capsule is what will be docking to the Lunar Gateway. American companies will be sending food, oxygen, and water to the Lunar Gateway for N.A.S.A. The purpose of the Gateway is to extend the duration of scientific studies of the moon and beyond.
