Purpose/Mission: The Academic Booster Club, the parent organization in the Puyallup School District that supports Highly Capable students, is offering merit-based, one-year scholarships to students who have embraced the opportunity to participate in a Highly Capable education over time and who show evidence of pursuing academic rigor.

Who: Emerald Ridge, Puyallup, and Rogers High School graduating seniors who were enrolled in an elementary program for Highly Capable students and the PAGE program.

Requirements:

• 2 years of participation in a Highly Capable program in elementary school within the PSD or another school district (must provide verification) as well as two years participation in PAGE (a minimum of 1 class each year).

• GPA 3.85

• Minimum of 6 past or current Advanced Placement classes in high school.

• (1) Letter of Recommendation from a teacher or school administrator. Letter should address the student’s ability to handle academic rigor.

• Supplement: including verification of participation and response (download below).

• Copy of Standard Application for Scholarships and an unofficial transcript.

• Student must attend a 4-year college or university.

Scholarship Amount: $500 and/or $1,000 (up to $2,000 total awarded).

Application Due: March 2, 2023

Selection: Students who pass the initial application phase may be notified for a potential interview.

Scholarship recipients will be recognized and celebrated at the ABC ??? on May ??, 2023.
