Playbill
My sophomore year I got the privilege to perform in Anastasia Teen Edition. I fell in love with the show ever since I started the rehearsal process, so when the question got asked of what one act we should do I gave the idea of Anastasia the Youth Edition. I was so grateful to have my idea get chosen and to have been given the role as Director. I soon after changed my capstone request to this show process. I've wanted to do a capstone since my sophomore year and I am very grateful I got to be given the opportunity to have it be a show that is so near and dear to my heart.

Capstone Reflection
Thinking about the process and product of your Capstone, reflect upon what you are most proud of and what you might do differently if you were to complete a similar project in the future.
Thinking about this production, the thing I am most proud of is how my fellow students respected me enough to treat me like a director. I have always wanted to direct and the one thing I was scared about when taking on the director role is to see how my classmates would treat me. I was so grateful that they respected me enough to see me as a director. One thing I would've done differently is made a full rehearsal schedule of exactly what we are doing on what day because some rehearsals became chaotic but that is the only thing I would've changed.
Explain how your life experiences are reflected through your project.
I have been a performer and done musical theater in my entire life stepping into my senior year. I knew I wanted to do a capstone to get my fine arts seal and my background and musical Theater helped me achieve this goal. Since first grade I have done over 35 musical productions with multiple different directors so I got to see how my directors taught us and implementing all of the things I learned into my capstone.
Thinking about the Extra-curricular hours you completed, reflect upon what you learned through the experiences and/or how you have been impacted as an artist?
My hours were both for Musical Theatre and my Choir Auditions for Allstate show choir and 32 of my hours were by the work I put in to make it into that choir. The rest of my hours were because my senior year play a murder is announced, which taught me comedy and was an amazing experience.
How is your life positively impacted by the arts?
The arts are my passion. I’ve wanted to pursue something in the arts since I got into high school. My future is going to be involved in the arts and it has positively impacted my life. In many ways. I have found forever friends, and a passion for something that will never be out done everything in my life revolves around the arts and I’m grateful that this is the path that I’m on.
How do you plan to include artistic experiences in your future after high school?
I am going to college to pursue musical Theater and choir and to eventually later on in my life, have it be my career I want to either teach or perform for the rest of my life in one of these two career paths.
What advice would you give incoming freshmen about studying the arts to help them make the most of their experiences while in high school?
Never give up always stay true to what you love because if you work hard enough, you will be able to achieve anything you want.
