PVUSD PROFESSIONAL LEARNING

2024-2025

 Professional Development (PD)

PVUSD offers Professional Development opportunities for certificated staff which support the three pillars of MTSS: Academic Instruction and Support, Social Emotional Instruction and Support, and Behavioral Instruction and Support.  Site Administrators work with their teaching staff to identify professional development which best fits the needs of their school based on multiple data points on their site's Data Dashboard.

Professional Development consists of four sessions over the course of the school year. Each session is 90 minutes in length and includes time for teachers to work collaboratively to apply the practices addressed in the session. All sessions include High-Leverage Teaching Practices, including Integrated ELD support strategies. In between each session, district directors and coordinators work with site administrators to support their teaching staff.  Instructional coaches are also available to work with teaching staff in between sessions with lesson-building, assessment planning, and modeling lessons.

 Training

PVUSD offers training to all teaching staff. School sites and staff have the opportunity to choose from training in different areas.  These training opportunities also support the three pillars of MTSS: Academic Instruction and Support, Social Emotional Instruction and Support, and Behavioral Instruction and Support. Unlike our Professional Development opportunities, our trainings consists of fewer overall hours.  Teachers can sign-up directly in Kick-Up for training that best suits their professional learning needs and interests. Staff will be able to register for 2024-25 training opportunities in Kick-Up beginning in August 2024.
