About me

Hello!

My name is Nicole Morgan, and I am so excited that your student will be in my class this year! Middle school is such an important transitional time and I am happy to be a part of it! Along with building a positive classroom community, I have the honor of teaching history at LPSSA.  History is so much more than dates and places; history gives your students the opportunity to develop critical thinking skills, strengthen their literary skills, and collaborate with other students. Learning about the way past events have impacted society adds to our common goal for your students: readiness for their future as literate, informed, and engaged citizens. It won’t be an easy year – we’ll be working hard together each and every day – but I will do my best to make it engaging and rewarding for your students.

Teaching is a second career for me.  This will be my eighth year of teaching and first at LPSSA, and I couldn’t be more excited to be a part of this community!

I am originally from Phoenix, AZ. I received my B.S. in education from Southwestern College and M.A. in history from CSU-Bakersfield.  I moved to California in 2009, when my husband accepted a position with Bakersfield College. He now works for Moorpark College which brought us to Camarillo. We have two sons – a seventh and fourth grader. They are full of energy and a blast to be around, and I spend most of my free time with them (usually on the soccer field). However, when I do find myself with extra time, I love to hike, get a massage, and go to the beach.

Please do not hesitate to contact me at any time with questions or concerns. I believe a student-teacher-parent team is essential to school success, and I’m looking forward to working with you this year!

Sincerely,

Nicole Morgan
