Welcome to 3rd grade

Parent Portal

In an effort to decrease the amount of emails that you are receiving, I plan to use this site as a place to update parents and guardians. Every Sunday evening, I will post the weekly assignments and any announcements for the week here, for your information, rather than sending a weekly email. The students can/should access all of this information in the google classroom. Since parents are not able to be added to the classroom, this might help you to be informed on the week's learning.

There will also be a section for "how to" videos and different information that might help you to help your child navigate the google classroom more easily. However, most of the students have been catching on pretty quickly.

I know that this virtual learning has been a challenge for everyone. I hope that this resource can be used to help alleviate any extra stress that parents/guardians might be feeling.

**Please note, this is for information only. This site will NOT have the actual weekly assignments on here. Students will need to go to the classroom to access these. However, if you need help, please see the section links above on help on clarification on how to access these.

Student Routine

How should my child access their assignments?

Each day, students should access the google classroom and go to the "classwork" tab to see their assignments for the day. The first assignment for the day will be the Daily Slideshow. This will take them through the assignments for the day. The slides with the "Mustard" are the "Must DO" assignments for the day. The slides with the "Mayo" are the optional assignments. These are just extras for students who want to do more or finish very quickly. This is the same routine that we did last week.

What if my child does not like the Daily Slideshow because it it too overwhelming?

All children learn differently and have different things that work best for them. If you child is overwhelmed by the slideshow, they can easily access the daily activities in right in the classroom. If you need more assistance, see a video explaining how to do this in the "How to" section above. Otherwise, read instructions below:

  • Students log into the google classroom
  • Click on the "Classwork" tab at the top of the google classroom
  • The first section should be this week's work. It should say "Week of....(date)"
  • All required classwork is labeled with subject, date and in number order of how they should complete the tasks. These are also marked with a ✅. Only the required assignments have the green checkmark.
  • Students should be sure to "turn in" each assignment when they are finished. They DO NOT need to turn in the Daily Slideshow or the Math Teaching Slideshows. (If they do in error, that is fine)
