Welcome to sixth grade! My name is Yvonne Pilling. I have wanted to teach ever since I was a second grader. I actually went to school in the Paradise Valley Unified School District. Many of my teachers are now my colleagues! I went to Campo Bello Elementary, Vista Verde Middle, and North Canyon High School. I graduated from North Canyon in 1995.

I was born and raised right here in Phoenix, Arizona. Right after high school, I went to Arizona State University. I majored in Elementary Education. I graduated with my Bachelor's Degree in 1999 and began teaching second grade at Mercury Mine. Since then, I decided to pursue two Master's Degrees. My first was in Elementary Education with a Reading Endorsement in 2001. My second was in Counseling with a Human Relations Emphasis in 2004. I also have an ESL Endorsement and Early Childhood Endorsement.

I was married to my husband, Howard, on June 16, 2007. Our daughter was born on June 25, 2008 at 8:18am. Her name is Rebecca Michelle.

I have been a teacher since August of 1999. All of the years have been at Mercury Mine. I taught twenty-two years in the second grade. I strongly believe that teachers, parents, and students must work together to create the best education possible. I am looking forward to working with all of you this year!
