Pleasant Valley

6th Grade

Meet the Team

Ms. Collins

Hello, I teach Reading, Language Arts, and Soc. Studies for 6th grade.

Miss Kaufman

Hello. I teach math, science, and technology at Pleasant Valley Middle school. I am very excited to be starting my third year here.

I am originally from Metamora, Illinois. I graduated from MTHS in 2013.

I then moved to Kenosha, Wisconsin to attendant Carthage College. There, I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and Mathematics. While I was there, I worked in classrooms of all ages and backgrounds. I spent the fall and winter of the 2016-2017 school year student teaching. I taught 2nd grade for the first nine weeks and 8th grade math the second nine weeks. I graduated in January of 2017.

Shortly after, I started teaching 6th grade math and science at 21st Century Preparatory School in Racine, Wisconsin. I was there for their second semester as well as their 3 week summer school in July.

In the summer and fall of 2017, I completed classes to add a general science endorsement on my teaching license.

Since the fall of 2017, I have been teaching 6th grade at Pleasant Valley. I have loved teaching here. I love the energy and excitement the students bring into class everyday. In the summer of 2019, I started the Curriculum and Instruction Masters program at Western Illinois University. That same summer, I also became a google certified educator.

Facts about Me:

I am very close with all of my cousins, even the ones who live out of state. I love to travel. I have been to all of the states except Alaska and Hawaii. I have visited Mexico twice, Canada once, Italy twice, Germany twice, France once, and the Netherlands once. In my free time, I love to read and spend time with my family. My favorite foods are cashew chicken and Snickers bars.
