Prairie View Agricultural Education

Program Overview

Agricultural education prepares students for successful careers and a lifetime of informed choices in the global agriculture, food, fiber and natural resources systems.

Students can take a variety of courses. Each student will take Agriscience as their first course. Upon completing their first year in agricultural education, students may decide what pathway they would like to pursue. These pathways include: Agribusiness; Animal Science; Comprehensive Agriculture; Environmental & Natural Resource Systems; Plant Systems; and Power, Structure and Technical Systems.

Students maintain a work-based learning project called a Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE). These projects are designed around student interests related to agriculture. Students may start their own business (Entrepreneurship or School-Based Enterprise), work for a business (Placement),  conduct research or solve agricultural problems (Research), or provide a service to help or improve an area of agriculture (Service-Learning).
