Handmade during World War I, the 1918 Putnam Junior Red Cross Flag Quilt is currently on display at the Condit Branch throughout May, coinciding with the 145th anniversary of the American Red Cross, founded on May 21, 1881. Carefully preserved for over a century, this extraordinary quilt features a bold red cross on one side and an American flag on the other, with the names of 113 Putnam residents embroidered across both, offering a meaningful glimpse into the community's past.
