The Apple TV is a small black box that connects to either a projector or television screen in your classroom. It uses wireless internet connections to stream content or mirror your iPad/Mac screen.
If you have an Apple TV in your classroom, you do not need to do anything to get it started. Simply turn on your projector and press the "TV" button twice to wake the Apple TV up.
Depending on the model of your Apple TV, you will have one of the remotes pictured to the left. Take time to learn the buttons and each of their functions.
Each remote is paired to a specific Apple TV. Do not remove your remote from your classroom, as it will only work on your Apple TV.
Both remotes will need to be periodically charged with a lightning cable.
You will need to know the name of your Apple TV in order to mirror your Macbook or iPad screen. To do this, simply open the Settings App, Click "General" and then "About."
Do not rename your Apple TV. This name allows our technicians to remotely access the TV to perform maintenance.
Simialr to the Mac and iPad, the Apple TV will need to have software updated.
Go to Settings > System > Software Updates and select Update Software.
If there's an update, select Download and Install.
Wait for your Apple TV to download the update. Don't disconnect or unplug your Apple TV until the update completes.
After the update downloads, your Apple TV will restart, prepare the update, then install it. When the update is complete, your Apple TV will automatically restart again.
