Gus has been with Purdue Global for nearly 20 years and reminisces about receiving a gift for his 10th anniversary.
He started teaching around 2004, initially in the computer programming department.
Over the years, Gus has seen significant changes in teaching methods at Purdue Global, evolving from chat-based seminars to video and audio. He fondly remembers using Adobe for seminars and shares a humorous story about missing a seminar due to a time zone mix-up.
In addition to teaching, Gus has various responsibilities, including being a subject matter expert in technology courses, a course lead, and conducting portfolio evaluations. He also serves on multiple committees, including the Communications Committee and the Diversity and Inclusion Committee.
Before joining Purdue Global, Gus worked as a chemical engineer and held various positions at Union Carbide Corporation. He later became a VP of Operations and R&D at another company before transitioning to teaching, where he finds great fulfillment in student success and learning.
