This course will help you transform your classroom to one that is full of active learning and student engagement. This videos and podcasts will emphasize 21 century skills, with a focus on teamwork, critical thinking as well as creativity. Multiple strategies will be looked at with a focus on meeting students at the cognitive level they are at.
In this course you will discover new ideas for creating an engaging classroom experience for students at any level (PreK-12). First, watch the Course Intro above. Next, please read the article about different ideas to incorporate technology to improve engagement (link). You will then choose 1-2 videos or podcasts ( 1 hour of learning) from the links below to explore! The videos and podcasts will offer differnent ways to use the Google Suite Apps to make your lessons more student centered. After watching the videos or listening to the podcasts, you will answer the questions on the Padlet. Finally you will create or modify a lesson using Google to increase engagement. You will share the lesson on the Padlet and briefly describe it.
Reflect on your learning on this padlet board! Please include a short summary of learning, the knowledge you gained, and how it will impact student learning. This reflection should be under the category "Reflections from Learning" on the Padlet.
Based on your learning during this course and using your knowledge of the 4C's, identify a unit or activity that you can modify/create!
Using Google Apps to Improve Student Learning
Choose an unit or 2 specific lessons that you want to improve using one of the Google Apps you learned about.
Focus on lessons that need more student engagement and use what you have learned to add in specific activities using Google.
