Congratulations, you graduated! Now that you are done with Act 20 training, don't forget about all the great learning you did. In this course, you will apply the knowledge gained from the Act 20 training and explore creative ways to integrate these ideas into your teaching practices using the 4C’s.
You will spend 1 Hour of time learning and exploring!
REQUIRED - First, watch the video linked below going through the slide deck from when this course was taught during the 2024-2025 school year. This should take you 16 minutes.
Then, choose from the links below to complete the rest of your 1 hour of learning.
Reflect on your learning on this padlet board! Please include a short summary of learning, the knowledge you gained, and how it will impact student learning. This reflection should be under the category "Reflections from Learning" on the Padlet.
Based on your learning during this course and using your knowledge of the 4C's, identify two different areas of literacy you want to engage students in during the upcoming ‘25-26 school year.
Areas of literacy:
Phonics Instruction, Reading Fluency, Teaching Writing, Early Literacy, Oral Language, Reading Comprehension, Meaningful Read Alouds, Vocabulary Instruction, RTI, or Data Driven Instruction.
Then, create 2 artifacts to integrate these ideas into your teaching practices using the 4C’s. Create a lesson, task, assessment, project, activity, lesson plan, etc. that will boost your student engagement.
Ideas:
Make a game based activity for mundane skill practice (vocabulary, foundational skills, etc.) - Ex: a Lumio monster quiz focusing on weekly vocabulary words. How can you make this more action filled?
Think of a lesson that did not go well last year. How can you add or substitute an engaging technology tool to create an engaging lesson?
See more ideas in the required slide deck from the "Learn" section.
Still stuck? Reach out to me so we can brainstorm ideas together!
Your hard work is complete! Please reflect on your work and share your 2 completed tasks here on the padlet board under the "Artifact and Reflection" category. Be sure to link your creation(s) and reflect on it.
