During this session, we will explore and identify practical ways to integrate AI tools into the HMH Literacy program to enhance instruction and streamline workflow.

Reflect on your learning on this padlet board! Please include a short summary of learning, the knowledge you gained, and how it will impact student learning. This reflection should be under the category "Reflections from Learning" on the Padlet.

Based on what you’ve learned during this course and your knowledge of the 4Cs, identify activities you can modify or enhance with the help of AI. Make this a meaningful process — use this opportunity to create something you’re proud of and can put into action right away in the school year. These are not general creations; they must be specific to lessons within HMH Module 1. For help with this: open HMH, go to "Discover" at the top of the page, find Module 1, and click on Teacher's Guide. This will allow you to easily see the concepts being taught during those weeks.
You have 4 separate items that need to be created. YOU MUST COMPLETE ALL 4:
Item 1: Reading
Choose a READING lesson from HMH Module 1- Have AI help you create a resource to align with that reading lesson. When sharing, be sure to specify the grade and topic/lesson. (Example- Grade 5, Module 1 Week 1, Reading, Point of View)
Item 2: Writing
Choose a WRITING lesson from HMH Module 1- Have AI help you create a resource to align with that lesson. When sharing, be sure to specify the grade and topic/lesson. (Example- Grade 5, Module 1 Week 1, Writing, Intro to Writing Process)
Item 3: Word Study/Vocabulary/Grammar (Choose 1)
Choose a WORD STUDY, VOCABULARY, OR GRAMMAR lesson from HMH Module 1- Have AI help you create a resource to align with that lesson. When sharing, be sure to specify the grade and topic/lesson. (Example- Grade 5, Module 1 Week 1, Word Study, Short Vowels)
Item 4: Fluency
Choose a FLUENCY passage from HMH Module 1- Have AI help you create a resource to align with that week's fluency passage. When sharing, be sure to specify the grade and topic/lesson. (Example- Grade 5, Module 1 Week 1, Fluency)
If you are unsure of what to have AI create, ask it what it can do with your specific topic.
Once you have these items created, you will need to share them via the Padlet; this may be easiest to attach all items (copy/paste, screenshot, etc.) into a Google Slideshow. Whatever way you plan to share, be sure to CHANGE PRIVACY/SHARING SETTINGS TO ANYONE WITH LINK.
