In this course you will dive into artificial intelligence with a focus on student engagement/use. This course will explore effective strategies for discussing AI concepts with students, setting clear expectations regarding its use, and creatively reimagining assessment methods. Additionally, we will showcase inspiring examples of how educators are seamlessly integrating AI technologies into their classroom activities. You will navigate the exciting intersection of education and AI!
You will spend 1 Hour of time learning and exploring!

Then, please select: 1-2 additional resources to learn from.

Option 1: Navigating Assessment
Choose an assessment that may be too AI-able
1) Enter it into ChatGPT/Bard/ Magic School to assess prompt
2) Use Strategies 2-7 in the required slideshow to edit assessment
Shareshop: Share before and after assessments & answer how the changes improve student learning
Option 2: Using AI to Improve Student Learning
Choose an upcoming unit that you want to improve using AI.
1)Review educator prompts on our PCSD AI Website
2) Select prompts from at least 3 categories to improve the unit and use AI tools: integrate tech, interventions for students, engagement strategies, leveling text, etc.
Shareshop: share specifically what you are changing in the unit and how the changes improve student learning.
Option 3: Navigating Discussions with Students
1) Review the Turnitin tiles regarding AI
2) Read 3-4 of the articles and create 3 action steps you will take in the near future related to talking to students about AI use.
