Students put on a Broadway show. Sample activities include singing, dancing, acting, set building (construction and painting), and working as part of the stage crew. Pulaski became part of the Center Stage Theatre Program, which provides students the chance to work with performing arts professionals in workshop settings, being the social media person for our show, written feedback about the musical performance, and the possibility of earning awards (potentially even representing Wisconsin at the Jimmy Awards in New York City). Before the COVID-19 pandemic, students were able to participate in a singing workshop with a lead actress from Hamilton and a stage manager workshop from The Phantom of the Opera. (Students in the musical pit orchestra rehearse multiple times per week after school from December through February and attend every dress rehearsal in the weeks leading up to the performances. Only the most dedicated students are chosen to play in the pit orchestra. The music is demanding; this is one of the premier performing ensembles at PHS. Students new to pit orchestra must audition each year in November. Pit orchestra is fun, challenging, and rewarding!)
