The cost of being in color guard can vary depending on the equipment that you need. For incoming freshman, you can expect to have to buy shoes, gloves, color guard jacket, and the summer marching band uniform. All of this is roughly $200. This does not include the costs of trips, which are optional.
The time spent practicing with the color guard is usually 2 days per week, but it is also expected that team members spend time practicing at home. Time requirements for home football games is right after school until half time. Time requirements for weekend parades can vary depending on travel time, but will usually be all morning and afternoon.
