Empower, Learn, Belong

Empower, Learn, Belong endeavours to act as a guide for the Puketapu School community to ensure that our tamariki experience the best home teaching and learning possible during the COVID19 lockdown . Home learning at Puketapu School has been set up to allow students to learn and pursue their academic and personal goals without being physically present at school. The Empower, Learn, Belong learning programme aspires to be unique and responsive to the priorities, preferences, and issues of our community and for our people.

At Puketapu School we believe that our students will contribute to their learning, their whanau & their community, they will be communicators, they will be kind to themselves, to others and their environment, they will be learners, they will have a strong sense of belonging and they will look after their own wellbeing. Empower, Learn, Belong will strive to make this happen.

Each child is on a unique journey. They come into the world eager to learn and into family, whānau or ‘aiga that have high hopes for them. Kaiako and whanau at Puketapu School will work together in partnership to realise these hopes.

Empower, Learn, Belong aims to acknowledge Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and the bicultural foundations of Aotearoa New Zealand. All students will have the online opportunity to acquire knowledge of te reo Māori me ōna tikanga.

Manawa piharau: Determined until the end.
