Mission: T.U.P.A.C.’s mission is to provide the youth of Tacoma, particularly Black and BIPOC youth in the historic Hilltop Community, with opportunities to achieve artistic excellence through culturally relevant pre-professional dance training, community events, and classes in the performing arts. Further, their mission is to provide students with mentoring by national and international artists, intergenerational artists, and most importantly, whole person development and community give back.
What: Volunteers are needed for the following tasks:
Administration: Assist at the front desk by welcoming guests, helping students with class sign-ins, and updating our front desk TV with TUPAC news. They are looking for volunteers who can commit to a consistent schedule, such as every Tuesday and Thursday from 3-6 PM.
Production and Special Events: These positions are needed on production or event days. Volunteers will help with concessions, ushering, costumes, props, and more.
Faculty Support: This role involves maintaining organization throughout the center, including managing our costume area. This position can offer a consistent schedule, but flexibility is also welcome!
Where: 1105 M.L.K. Jr Way, Tacoma, WA 98405 (7 Minute Car Ride)
When: Shifts available every day except for Sundays.
Commitment: A few hours at a time
