Lakewold Gardens

Mission: Lakewold Gardens provides intentional encounters with the life-changing power or nature, fostering peace, creativity, ad healing in our communities.

What: Volunteers are needed to help with different activities throughout the year:

• 1-off events: Help with crafts, face-painting or other event activities

  • All Hallows' Eve (Saturday & Sunday evening, 2 weekends in mid to late October)

  • Winter Glow (December)

  • FairyFest (June)

• Crafting classes: Help during the class + set-up/clean-up

• Gardening: Planting and weeding (spring), debris clean-up (spring), mulching (spring and winter), pruning (year-round), deadheading and watering (summer), leaf pick-up (fall)

• 5th grade field trips (March-April)

  • Tue., Thu., Fri., 9:30am-12:00pm, help lead small groups of 5th graders in their exploration of the gardens and educational activities that are preprepared for them

Volunteers who serve at least 4 hours receive a free annual membership for themselves and a guest to enjoy the garden at their leisure as often as they'd like!

Where: 12317 Gravelly Lake Dr. SW, Lakewood, WA (~20 min. from campus) 

When: Varies. Inquire with the organization about their needs.

Commitment: Volunteers can volunteer for one-off events or consistently volunteer. To remain "active" volunteers should complete at least 2 2-hour shifts over a 6-month period.
