Mission: The Bryant Neighborhood Center serves as a community hub to link local residents with high quality resources, where young minds learn and grow, relationships are formed, and basic needs are met while amplifying residents’ vision for the community.
What: Volunteers are needed to do any of the following tasks:
Trinity Afterschool Program (TAP) Tutoring - Volunteers are needed every semester to help tutor 1st-3rd graders from 3:30pm to 5pm. This is a semester long commitment to working with the same student, on the same day, weekly. SEE FLYER.
Medical Clinic Help - On Tuesdays 5-7pm, a couple volunteers are needed to help with sports physicals and mental health screenings.
Community Meals - On Thursdays 5-7pm, a volunteer is needed to help serve people with a community meal. This involves a 1-semester or longer commitment to being there weekly.
Soup Chefs - On Thursdays, a volunteer is needed to help prepare soup for the community meal.
Encampment Distribution - Every 3rd Sunday from 9am-12pm, volunteers meet at Trinity House to distribute food and hygiene products to individuals living outside
STEAM Night - Every 2nd Friday of the Month from 5-8pm, volunteers are needed to help run STEAM Night, an event designed for families to explore concepts in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math.
Free preschool through Greentrike - Every Wednesday from 10 to 11:30am, volunteers are needed to help run stations at Free Preschool.
Where: Multiple sites within Tacoma, all relatively close to campus; main site is in easy biking distance!
When: Varies - weekday mornings, afternoons and evenings; Sunday mornings
Commitment: Some opportunities (like TAP) require a weekly, semester-long commitment; ask about other commitment requirements when you inquire about volunteering.
