PARENT RESOURCES

GENERAL GUIDELINES FOR DISTANCE LEARNING:

  • Teachers are expected to meet once per week with each class. Most teachers are using Zoom and Google Hangout for their classes. The meeting times will be during the assigned time based on content. For example, the math teachers will have all of their math classes during 2:30-4:30pm on Wednesdays, or 10am-12pm on Fridays.

  • Distance learning will not be a minute to minute replacement of the school day, nor will it be a whole group video meeting at any particular time. Each lesson is designed to be done when it is convenient for families.

  • We understand that students may not be able to attend online meetings live. Students who do not attend will not receive a lower grade. However, they will still be responsible for the material covered which will be in the teachers’ Google Classrooms. Students are encouraged to attend scheduled meetings whenever possible.

  • There will be no classes on Mondays. Students can meet with teachers by appointment if they choose, or reach out by email.

  • During work time, it’s important to help them create a learning space where they can be successful. While every house has a unique set-up, it’s important to try and remove as many distractions as possible. If possible, it may mean putting their cell phones away or keeping the television off.

  • Tutoring will take place every day. All teachers are expected to be available during this time to give an immediate response to any communication.

  • Students are expected to do work at home each day for their classes and should check the Google Classroom sites for each of their classes to see details regarding meeting times and work expectations.

  • We ask that families check-in regularly with their scholars regarding their work and what they have to complete at home for each of their classes. For individual assistance, please reach out to teachers and school staff via email and/or phone calls.

  • Teachers and school staff are available for any support that you may need along the way. Please continue to use email, social media and phone calls/text messages to reach out to us. Also, please use the resources below to find out more about some frequently used digital resources. We are here to support.

GUíAS GENERALES PARA EL APRENDIZAJE A DISTANCIA:
