VIRTUAL FIELD TRIP - SUSTAINABLE SEAS

This week we will be taking part in a virtual field trip! This means, that we will be exploring and learning a particular place in New Zealand from our very own classroom using our Chromebooks!

This week, you will travel to Tasman Bay at the top of the South Island. Tasman Bay has both coastal and offshore waters, a variety of marine environments and many different uses, activities and interests.

After we have watched the video, it will be time for you to explore. Click on the Virtual Field Trip image and make a copy of the presentation!

READING A RECOUNT

WALT identify the features of a recount.

This week we are writing about our experiences at camp. In the text, Going Fishing, we will explore the features of a recount:

How does the writer begin the recount?
What information is in the orientation (introduction)?
How does the writer make this recount interesting for the reader?
What do you notice about how the author uses paragraphs?

We will also read the article, Scott McKenzie Skydiver, from the School Journal which tells about Scott's first skydive. After we have talked about the text as a group, your task is to imagine you are Scott and write a recount about the experience.
