About Me

Greetings everyone!

I will be PTAA's K-5th STEAM teacher this year and I am thrilled to be a part of the PTAA family! My family and I recently moved to the beautiful state of Colorado from Texas. My journey prior includes earning a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Southwestern Adventist University and a Master of Science in School Counseling from Texas A&M. I have taught 3rd - 5th grade science, math, and ELAR as well as STEM and Gifted and Talented Education. I have also implemented FIRST LEGO League robotics for the past four years and am ambitious about starting a group at PTAA this year.

I am a huge advocate for problem-based learning that is experiential and collaborative. This year, I will heavily encourage the 4's of 21st-century learning (critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity) while also motivating students to have a Growth Mindset and a dedication to discovering their strengths.

Students will have the opportunity to develop coding skills, engage with robotics (Spheros, VEX Go/IX, LEGO League), and implement engineering principles via multiple engineering design challenges. We will also use the amazing PLTW curriculum to dig deep into rich, integrated learning that is hands-on and student centered.

Please reach out with any questions, concerns, ideas regarding community events/opportunities or collaboration efforts. I would love to work with our amazing PTAA parents to support students to engineer, dream, discover, and engage!
