DAN ASHER RIVERA
Senate President
Senate President
Dan Rivera, Senator of the Student Body Government, is recognized for his work in journalism, leadership, filmmaking, and his dedication to student development.
A Lab High student since Grade 7, Dan began his journey quietly but soon found his footing in leadership. By Grade 8, he was elected Councilor, where he served diligently and discovered his passion for journalism. He started as Lathalain Editor of Epistola and later became part of the first-ever English TV Broadcasting Team in PSU and Puerto Princesa, marking the beginning of his path as both a writer and reporter.
In Grade 9, Dan broke new ground as the first independent candidate for Mayor—and won. Together with Councilor Kaori Balbino, he launched Project Pass-Pass’an, an online reviewer platform for Grade 9 students, a testament to his innovative approach to student service.
Alongside leadership, he pursued journalism with dedication, contributing as a writer, layout artist, and reporter for The Practupians and Ang Practupians. His creativity also shone in filmmaking, directing Lan Libong Sansinukob, PalSU LJHS’s official entry to Isla Pelikula, which went on to win three awards.
Today, as Senator, Dan continues to champion student growth, encouraging his peers to embrace opportunities in academics, media, and the arts—proving that leadership thrives through service, creativity, and initiative.
