The Tri-M Music Honor Society meets twice a month during the middle school lunch period.
Students in grades 5-8 are responsible for learning how to argue in three different types of debate: Public Forum, Parliamentary, and Congressional debate. Students compete on Saturdays against hundreds of schools. Students are able to research and form their debate arguments.
We are excited to share with you the many opportunities students will have to participate in Student Government & Student Union Activities this year. All students are encouraged to participate in Student Union clubs such as The 266 Poetry Society, The Letter Writing Campaign, The Movie Club, Beyond Differences, The 266Q PRIDE Student Newspaper and The Sunshine Brigade. Students have the opportunity to start a club, work with a Student Union advisor and a peer mentor to think through and create a student interest club. Students can also join either the Organization or the Communications Committee which support the running of the Student Union.
Our 266 Drama Club is an after school group that meets Wednesday-Friday. We put on two productions a year, our Elementary Extravaganza and our Middle School Musical. Students audition in late September or early October with our Extravaganza in January and MS Musical in late May/ early June. Our cast for our Elementary production typically is around 100 performers, with a 20 student crew and our Middle School Musical is typically 50 performers with a 20 student crew. Our student crew runs the production on show nights and deals with stage changes and construction of sets. We have staged “You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown”, “Guys and Dolls Jr”, "Annie Jr”, "Grease Jr”, "Hairspray Jr”, "Shrek", "Bye Bye Birdie", "West Side Story" and "Addams Family" so far! Check out our Drama Club Page.
