Counseling at HES
My name is Jessica Drennen, I am the new counselor at Hildreth Elementary School. I am very much looking forward to getting to know the students, as well as their families! I am coming from New York, where I worked as a social worker at an elementary school in Brooklyn. I am originally from this area and am excited to be returning to MA after being away for six years.
I believe school should be a safe space for students, where we can discuss our emotions and learn problem solving skills to resolve conflicts. It is my goal to be a person your children feel safe and comfortable coming to if they are having a problem or need someone to talk to. That being said, as their families you are the most important people in their life, and I strive to work in partnership with you to successfully support students. At Hildreth Elementary School I will be running a variety of groups and working in collaboration with our teachers and staff to maintain and strengthen the classroom culture, as well as provide counseling for issues such as loss, divorce, death, anxiety and stress. I am also available to consult with parents regarding any social, emotional, or behavioral concerns.
Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions, think your child could benefit from speaking with someone, or just want to say hello-- I always love hearing from parents!
