Black Comedy

by Peter Shaffer

Lovesick and desperate, sculptor Brindsley Miller has embellished his apartment with furniture and art objects “borrowed” from the absent antique collector next door, hoping to impress his fiancée’s pompous father and a wealthy art dealer. But: The fussy neighbor, Harold Gorringe, returns just as a blown fuse plunges the apartment into darkness. Done with a technical twist where darkness is light and light is dark, unexpected guests, aging spinsters, errant phone cords, and other snares frame the frantic and hilarious acts that occur before light is restored.

Amélie

Teen Edition

Book by Craig Lucas

Music by Daniel Messe

Lyrics by Nathan Tysen & Daniel Messe

Amélie is an extraordinary young woman who lives quietly in the world but loudly in her mind. She covertly improvises small but surprising acts of kindness that bring joy and mayhem. But when a chance at love comes her way, Amélie realizes that to find happiness she’ll have to risk everything and say what’s in her heart. Be inspired by this imaginative dreamer who finds her voice, discovers the power of connection, and sees possibility around every corner.
