In the spring 1st graders create digital stories with a beginning, middle, and end. They plan on paper, and then use their Wixie accounts to show their creativity and communicate a story.
During the winter, we use Discovery Education to research penguins. 1st graders complete the assignment, and take notes on the interesting facts they learn. Finally, they use Google Docs to publish a report for you.
In the fall, after reading the book Leaf Man by Lois Ehlert, the first graders used Wixie to create their own Leaf Man story. Wixie is a cloud based drawing tool our students can access on any device with the internet. Pixie is the installable software version, and a similar program. You can get a version of Pixie for home use, or an app for any tablet!
