Math Counts - How to Practice

  • What are some ways I can practice on my own?
      • Complete the problems provided in our meetings - we will rarely do all of these problems but I will always post answer keys on this site. You can complete the problems and check your work.
      • Complete the weekly homework problem for discussion at our next meeting.
      • Download the MathCounts trainer - an app created by the Art of Problem Solving. If you don't want to get the app (or don't have a phone), it's also available online under AOPS!
      • Practice using questions from prior years' contests.
          • Math Counts - www.mathcounts.org (for last year's contest only)
          • AMC 8 - Art of Problem Solving (all prior competitions and other national competitions)
          • Past Math Counts competitions - we have most competitions ranging from districts to nationals. Math Counts doesn't publicly post these questions (especially the national ones), so see us if you're interested!
          • AMC 10 - Many of the higher level questions (state and definitely nationals) are more similar in scope to the AMC 10 than the AMC 8. If you want to go really far, this is a great resource!
      • Take a class through the Art of Problem Solving (see artofproblemsolving.com for more information).
