Canvas for Parents

Canvas is our new Learning Management System we use in grades 6-12. For the first time parents have more access to what is happening in the classroom than ever before. You have two different ways to access Canvas. ONE IMPORTANT THING TO NOTE: CANVAS SYNCS GRADES TO POWERSCHOOL NIGHTLY SO IF YOU NOTICE A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE TWO CHECK AGAIN IN THE MORNING.

Download the Canvas Parent App

  1. Download the Canvas Parent app for your mobile device from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store

  2. Open the Canvas Parent app and tap Find School

  3. Search for Pattonville - Parents

  4. Tap Create Account and create your own Canvas Account using your Name, Email, Password, and Student Pairing Code

Student Pairing Code can be found by opening the Canvas Student app on the Student's Device. Tap the 3 lines in the upper left hand corner and then Settings. Tap Pair with Observer to get the code.

  1. Tap Start Participating

  2. You only have to do this once per child, not per class.

Access Canvas Via the Web

After creating your Canvas Parent account and connecting with your student via the app you can also login via the web site in a web browser from a computer. Here you will have the same access to the Dashboard, Calendar, and Inbox and you can also manage your EMAIL notifications.
