This is the 2019-20 rubrics. The first rubric is only for the first project.
All of these rubrics can be used as a check list to assure themselves that all of the elements of the project are included before their presentation.
I use these rubrics to grade each presentation as the students present their projects. At the end of a completed presentation, this rubric is shared with each student with notes and grades. This will give each student a clear picture of the points they have earned and where any points were lost. Since I emphasize skills and skill development based on state standards, students may re submit portions of their projects on which they did not score well. I will limit each student to one re-submission for each of the four projects.
Student growth can be seen in how their scores over the course of their four presentations.
Students may choose how they present their research projects. Most students present their projects with Google Slides, but are not required to present in any format as long as they address all of the elements in the Master Rubric in their presentation. Students have presented with movies, games, plays, models, dioramas, booklets, research papers, web pages, and Minecraft. It is my hope that students will select a presentation format in which they are comfortable or one that challenges them to develop a variety of skills.
If a student would like to create a new way to present, they may discuss their presentation with me and we can develop a rubric for their presentation. Regardless of the how a student presents their research, the format of their presentation is only worth 10% of their overall project grade.
Students must present three of their projects over the course of the year. If time allows some students may present all four of their projects.
