Maker Fair is an exciting exhibition and competition that empowers students to unleash their creativity and innovation by showcasing their own digital and technology projects at Kedah Digital Festival. This hands-on event encourages a maker mindset, inspiring young minds to explore, experiment, and bring their ideas to life!
Participants will dive into the world of programming, learning languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Python. They will also get hands-on experience with microcontrollers like the Raspberry Pi Pico, unlocking the potential of coding and hardware integration. Beyond that, students will explore cutting-edge 3D printing and 3D modeling technologies, gaining valuable skills that bridge the gap between imagination and reality.
This year’s theme invites you to explore the future of the automotive world through creativity, innovation, and hands-on skills. Whether you're building a website, designing car parts, or creating a cool prototype—this is your chance to show off your ideas and make an impact!
Web Development: This theme challenges participants to create an interactive website that revolutionizes the automotive industry. From online car sales to spare parts marketplaces, from showcasing the latest engine innovations to promoting automotive exhibitions—this competition drives digital solutions for the future of mobility.
Engineering Design: This theme challenges participants to design innovative mechanical components that shape the future of automotive engineering. The theme encourages creativity in 3D design, focusing on efficiency, safety, or sustainability. Participants will develop digital models, showcase their functionality, and gain hands-on experience in 3D modelling and prototyping—key skills for future engineers.
MakerTech: This theme challenges participants to design innovative and practical automotive solutions by building physical prototypes using recycled materials, LEGO, wood, or 3D-printed parts. Without relying on sensors or electronics, participants will focus on hands-on construction to explore improvements in vehicle design, safety, convenience, or sustainability—such as creative body designs, and simple mechanical features. The goal is to bring fresh, functional ideas to life through creative prototyping.
Only students aged 14 to 15 years old are eligible to participate.
The competition submission period starts from 22 April 2025 to 17 July 2025.
This Maker Fair has three competitions:
