Since 1985, ARCHELON has been carrying out educational projects all over Greece. Visitors can learn sea turtle's evolution, biology, the threats they face, and the care they receive at the centre, and conservation efforts on the nesting beaches.
Anna Kondoleon, the education officer for Archelon, gave us our tour of the turtle rehabilitation center and sat with us to answer questions about her pedagogy to inform and teach the public about the center's work.
The goal of ARCHELON's Environmental Education Programs is to use the sea turtle as an example to make understandable the fundamental functions of nature and the human place within it, considering the common understanding that "we all share the same Earth."
