3/16/2020:

As you are all aware, due to the COVID-19 pandemic (Corona Virus) schools will be closed until, at least April 20. The City Officials will continue monitoring the situation and keep us updated during this time.

In the meantime, to ensure that your children will still receive their education, remote learning will take place beginning on Monday, March 23. At this time, we are still unsure of what that looks like, but teachers will be getting training this week, and I will be able to provide you with details as I get them.

In the meantime, place take note of the header on top of this page- two new pages have been added: "COVID-19 Updates", which will serve as place to see all up to date information from the city as we receive it, and "At Home Resources", which will serve as a place for parents (and kids!) to keep track of the many ideas educators from across the country have shared to ensure your children remain interested, motivated, and challenged during these difficult times. Please check these pages regularly.

I am also asking that any parent that has not signed up for Class Dojo at this time please sign up! If you do not have the sign up sheet, please email me at mgiordano@ps97.org so I can send you a direct link to sign up. I am also asking that parents send me their email address, phone numbers, and technology capabilities (do you have access to the internet/a computer or tablet/ a printer) at this time.

As always, THANK YOU for all your support! I hope to make this transition as easy as possible for all the students and families, and I thank you on advance for the patience, understanding, and hard work that tis transition entails. Stay safe, and be well.

Snacks:

Please send your child in with a healthy snack each day, as we have lunch at 12:00, and the children get hungry mid-morning. Please make sure that the snacks do NOT contain any nuts, since children have allergies and this can be very dangerous!

Homework Folders:

Important paperwork will be sent between home and school in their homework folders, so please make sure to check them daily!
