Literacy

At P.S. 330 we believe the development of literacy skills is a process. Our teachers develop a curriculum that draws from various programs, personal interests and the needs and interests of the students they serve. In addition to small group strategy work and guiding reading, all students engage in an independent reading block. Independent reading is when students choose a book that matches their level and their interest, with time and support to practice their reading skills and deepen their love of reading.

Reading Street from Pearson is the guiding program that all students, K-5 use to develop their love and readiness to read. ReadyGen is the guiding writing program that all students, K-5 use, to develop their voice and writing abilities.
