Hello! My name is Jaime Shon. I obtained my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and Psychology, and am currently pursuing my Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education (Birth – 2nd). In my previous experiences, I have taught a second and fifth grade class. I am so excited to be able to work with P.S. 214 and the students this year.
Through my experiences, I was able to develop a passion in my commitment to working for children in three categories: making school more enjoyable for all types of learners, providing a safe environment for all students and building on students’ strengths so that they may achieve their goals. I believe that to be a teacher it is more than what we teach the students academically, but how we foster him/her to be able to use what they know in the real world. It’s an honor to be able to teach your students, and be in the service of a district where high academic achievement is maintained and students are provided with opportunities for personal growth.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, friends, and traveling to new places. Additionally, I love to go on hikes with my three-year-old labradoodle!
