Suzanne Mora

Assistant Principal

ABOUT ME:

I joined the P.S. 214 family in 2013 as a Third Grade Teacher. I taught third grade in an Integrated Collaborative Teaching Classroom at P.S 214 for 2 years before becoming Assistant Principal. I’ve been working for the Department of Education since 2005. I started teaching in Parkchester in The Bronx for 6 years and then also taught in Corona, Queens before joining the P.S. 214Q family. I have a B.A. in Criminal Justice, a M.S. in Forensic Science, a M.A. in Urban Education, and have certificates for School Building Leader and School District Leader.

I am so grateful to be a part of the P.S. 214 family because it is a truly remarkable school. I am so proud of all of the opportunities our school is able to provide to our students and families. We are fortunate enough to have an incredibly diverse community where we can gain an appreciation for so many cultures. I enjoy working closely with families and students. My goal is to support everyone in our school community from families to students to staff to ensure our children are engaging in rigorous and meaningful work both academically and emotionally. I am committed to working hard for our school community to ensure our children receive the high quality education they need to be successful in our ever-changing world. I am confident that our entire staff including our teachers, paraprofessionals, school aides, custodians, nurse, specialists, kitchen staff and all of the organizations that work with our school are extremely dedicated to the success of all of our students.

I am a Queens native and am happy to be able to live in Queens and enjoy all the food and cultural events at our fingertips. I love to travel and have been lucky enough to visit many countries around the world. A few of my favorites were Peru, Hong Kong and Namibia. I also love adventure and enjoy hiking and snowboarding. I have two young children who light up my life and I can’t wait to share everything the world has to offer with them.

I look forward to seeing all of our families at workshops, performances and the many wonderful events scheduled for this school year. I am happy to work together to help you with any questions or concerns and I look forward to working with all of you throughout the year.
