Acetaminophen 1 g PO

Celecoxib 400 mg PO

from PACU arrival until discharge – while in bed or chair

Allow PO fluid intake while in PACU if patient awake and not vomiting

Immediately-Regular diet or patient specific diet if tolerating clears

Goal=mobilization within 2 hours of arrival to floor if spinal block has resolved

POD 0: 4x in hallway

POD 1: 4-6x in hallway

OOB 8 hrs in chair or ambulating

elevated 30 degrees at all times

x10 Q 1hr while awake

D/C if tolerating PO intake

If IVF needed, balanced crystalloid (LR) preferred over 0.9% NS

SCD usage while in bed or chair until discharge

Acetaminophen 1 g PO q8 hrs (Not ordered as "while awake")

Celebrex 200 mg PO BID

Tramadol 50 mg Q6 hrs

Vitamin C 500 mg

Oxycodone 5-10 mg PO q4 hrs PRN

IV opioids for severe breakthrough pain
